Automatic detection of semantic boundaries based on acoustic and lexical knowledge
نویسندگان
چکیده
In spoken language systems, the segmentation of utterances into coherent linguistic/semantic units is required when modules following the speech recognizer can only process such units one at a time. In this paper, techniques for semantic boundary prediction, based on both acoustic and lexical knowledge, are presented and tested on a corpus of personto-person dialogues. Best result gives 62.8% recall and 71.8% precision.

Automatic Prosody Labeling Final Project Report for EE 6820 - Spring 05 Professor : Dan
Automatic transcription of prosody is necessary for spoken language understanding. Prominence and intonational boundaries are routinely used to convey meaning beyond that expressed in the lexical content of speech. Using a classiÞcation rule learning algorithm and computationally light acoustic and syntactic features, detection of pitch accent at 87% on spontaneous elicited speech were attained...
متن کاملAutomatic word demarcation based on prosody
This paper presents a work on the acquisition of the prosodic knowledge that will be incorporated in a Word Prosody agent of a distributed speech understanding system (MICRO). The multi-agent architecture of MICRO, based on wholistic analytic double processing, is first described. MICRO uses prosody with a rather new view. This group of agents quickly produces information that will be used by t...
متن کاملAutomatic Construction of Persian ICT WordNet using Princeton WordNet
WordNet is a large lexical database of English language, in which, nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs are grouped into sets of cognitive synonyms (synsets). Each synset expresses a distinct concept. Synsets are interlinked by both semantic and lexical relations. WordNet is essentially used for word sense disambiguation, information retrieval, and text translation. In this paper, we propose s...
متن کاملAutomatic Hashtag Recommendation in Social Networking and Microblogging Platforms Using a Knowledge-Intensive Content-based Approach
In social networking/microblogging environments, #tag is often used for categorizing messages and marking their key points. Also, since some social networks such as twitter apply restrictions on the number of characters in messages, #tags can serve as a useful tool for helping users express their messages. In this paper, a new knowledge-intensive content-based #tag recommendation system is intr...
متن کاملAutomatic Labeling of Intonation Using Acoustic and Lexical Features
This paper proposes a framework of automatic intonation labeling which involves detection and classification of pitch accents and phrase boundaries. Four statistical models are designed to perform these tasks on the basis of a compact and simple representation consisting of features identified as the main acoustic correlates of accentual prominence and phrase boundaries or describing the acoust...
